BRX2 is Staying Dry!

It has been raining buckets at camp, but BRX 2 is happy and dry. Last night they camped at the Laurel Fork access area on Lake Jocassee, after a rain free day on the trail. As of this morning when we spoke with the leaders, they reported the spirits of the crew are higher than any group they have worked with in the last 2 summers. This brought us great comfort because we have been worried about group moral, warmth, and dryness of the group over the last few days. We have been assured though that they are having a fabulous time! This morning they were being shuttled across Lake Jocassee on Pontoon Boats to the Horsepasture Access on the Northwest side of the lake. They will camp near the access point this evening and then hike east on the Foothills trail tomorrow. They have gone across a few raging tributary streams and thankfully each stream crossing has a bridge! Last night they also enjoyed a delicious meal of summer sausage and veggie stir fry. Yum, yum! Happy Camping BRX2!
