Save Money on Summer Camp

We strive to make summer programs at Green River Preserve accessible to all families. One way we do this is by offering a variety of ways to save on the expenses that come with sending your child to an overnight summer camp. From discounts, to scholarships, to work trade, there are many ways to make programs at GRP more affordable for your family!

Scholarship Program

After submitting an application to your session of choice, to apply for a scholarship at Green River Preserve, you must fill out a scholarship application. Additionally, we request you upload your most recent tax return as part of our decision making process. You will be required to write a personal statement of need if requesting a scholarship outside of your income tier to detail your situation and family circumstance. By just submitting your tax return and filling out an application without a personal statement, you will only be considered for the percentage amount that matches your household income. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to offer your family the same award each season.

Green River Preserve requires an initial deposit to secure your child’s spot for your top choice session within two weeks of being accepted. This deposit for our shorter sessions is $500 and for our longer sessions is $1000. All camper families are asked to pay what they can afford, ensuring we can offer scholarship funds to as many campers as possible. If the award offered is not enough to meet your needs, you may decline for a full refund of your deposit. If the deposit creates financial hardship, please reach out to discuss a payment plan. Below is a household income tier system used as a guide for families with one camper, there is additional consideration for families sending multiple children.

• Tier 1: 40% for < $80k
• Tier 2: 30% for $80-130k
• Tier 3: 20% for $130+

Any scholarship requests that are more than 40% will be considered on a case by case basis. We will consider factors such as multiple children, medical bills, job status change since recent tax return, etc. If your family requests additional financial assistance that is more than what is listed in the tier that reflects your income, then we must receive a personal statement and any other documentation that you deem necessary to justify your request.

Green River Preserve is proud to offer work trade opportunities for a variety of skills. Below are some of our top jobs where we can always use extra help:

If you have a skill that is not listed above that you feel would be valuable to us, we would love to hear from you! Please note that we cannot guarantee that we will be able to honor all work trade requests and recurring trades may or may not carry over from season to season. We offer a day of work for a day of camp, and may be combined with a scholarship as well. Attend with a Friend GRP Referral Program

Level 1: Submit a Refer a Friend Form

Each new family (not per camper) you refer to GRP equals an entry for our Spring Picnic Raffle - entries are unlimited! We will announce the winner of a Family of 4 Voucher for either Family Camp or Farm Feast at our annual Spring Picnic on the Preserve Open House on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Come out and join us for the Picnic - maybe you’ll be the winner! You have until April 30 to refer as many families as you can to increase your odds. The awarded voucher will expire in October 2026.

Level 2: A New Family You Referred Applies to a Session at GRP in 2025

If a new family registers their camper for ANY 2025 Summer Camp Session and is accepted and attends, you will receive $200 off your 2025 balance. The maximum discount you may receive from Attend With a Friend is $1,000.

Level 3: They’re Out There - Enrollment GRAND SLAM

Because our Rookie Camp is reserved for first time campers only, we are calling out to our returning and alumni campers to help us recruit new families to join the GRP community. As all of our campers and community know, they’re out there so we are offering an Enrollment GRAND SLAM to help boost enrollment for Rookie Camp. If a new family you refer attends Rookie Camp, you will get $200 off, the new family will get $100 off and both families will get $25 Camp Store credit.

Level 4: Bonus! Host a GRP Roadshow

Host a Roadshow in the Spring in your town with at least 6 new families in attendance and receive $500 off your 2025 balance. Please note that this is not guaranteed, as we may have multiple families in the same area request to host. In the event that occurs, we will coordinate everyone in an email and divide the $500 among the number of hosts. In the event there are multiple hosts, a minimum of 8 new families will be required to receive $500 off.
