Tuesday the OBX group went to the beautiful Cape Lookout via the ferry and had an amazing day! They all climbed the lighthouse and enjoyed swimming in the ocean. The weather and water temperature were conducive to an awesome environment. Upon returning, Taco Tuesday was a big hit among the group. The next day the crew kayaked out of Shell Rock Landing in Swansboro and did about 3 miles in the sound through the marsh. When they were crossing the intercostal waterway, the entire group saw a dolphin less than 10 feet away! Wednesday afternoon, they visited Fort Macon and learned lots of cool facts about the fort. Dinner was delicious pasta and sausage and the night closed out with making some prayer flags. Today, Thursday, is fellow expeditioner, Lucy’s birthday. To celebrate they went to the beach and played in the surf and sand all day. Tonight the plan is to cook a delicious meal and have one of their final talking shell ceremonies. Everyone is getting sad about breaking up this amazing group. It has been such an incredible trip.
