Welcoming Session 2 with Open Arms

The sun rises over the rolling hills of Green River Preserve, and with it comes the start of another unforgettable week of summer magic. Session 2 has officially begun, and the energy is electric as Campers—both familiar and new—step onto this special land, ready for a week of exploration, adventure, and discovery.

One of the greatest joys of GRP is seeing returning Campers reunite with old friends, their faces lighting up as they pick up right where they left off. There’s something comforting about knowing that this place holds memories, traditions, and friendships that transcend summers. And just as exciting is welcoming new Campers into the GRP family. Their first moments here are filled with curiosity, wonder, and the thrill of stepping into a world where nature leads the way and possibilities are endless.

The forest is alive with the sounds of laughter, hiking boots crunching against the paths around Base Camp, and the splash of swimmers at the waterfront for Swim Review. Each day brings something new—a morning spent on Mentor Hikes, an afternoon of Activities at Base Camp, an evening gathered around a campfire under the vast starlit sky. The traditions that make GRP so special are alive and well, weaving together the fabric of another incredible summer.

As we dive into this week, one thing is certain: the magic of Green River Preserve continues.
