Hi GRP Families! My name is Arianna Bennett and this is my first summer working at Green River Preserve. I wanted to introduce myself as the summer Media Coordinator. I will be spending my days capturing all the joyful, silly and fun moments of programming at camp.
Starting the summer off strong with Rookie Week, I have learned the flow of GRP through it’s various activities in the afternoons and engaging mentor hikes in the morning. It’s been so much fun to see campers immerse themselves in nature and explore the beauty of the Preserve. We’re only a week in but I have already developed a love for capturing the special moments of camp life.
I am a recent graduate of Appalachian State University where I received a degree in Public Relations and Electronic Media/Broadcasting. It was there where I learned my vidoeography and photography skills that has helped me to capture the fast pace of life at camp. Before Rookie Camp I was able to learn the values of GRP and the special moments I wanted to capture on camera throughout the summer. Being a recent college graduate, I am definitely still developing my media style and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. Thank you for learning and growing on this journey with me!
A few goals I have for myself this summer are to learn how to drum in the Harmony House with Jonathan, find a Spirit Stone that speaks to me, and create a session slideshow that captures the magic and joy of Green River Preserve. I hope I can show families an insight into the incredible programming we have at GRP and the life-changing experience their camper has here.
Rookie Week was such a great way for me to learn my way around camp and taught me that it is okay to pivot especially when things aren’t going the way you intended. I’m looking forward to what the summer has in store and ready to share the magic of camp with parents and campers alike!
