Hi, I’m Rue!

Counselor

Rue has always had a love for the outdoors, ever since he was young he would find himself running off into the woods to play pretend or attempting to catch bugs. Leading into middle school he joined the Boy Scouts, eventually allowing him to gain the rank of Eagle Scout in high school. By the time Rue got to college he studied Marine Science where he received a bachelor’s degree in the subject with a minor in medicine. Throughout college he learned he had a love for both rock climbing and sustainability. This combination of interests allowed him to dive deeper into his passion for art, where he created stickers, logos, posters, and t-shirts for the university programs every semester. Rue also has five years experience working for K-12 programs as an inclusion therapist where he assisted children with mental and physical special needs in states along the east coast. He has also spent the last three years working in an environmental fluid laboratory, in partnership with NASA, researching bio-mimicry of terrestrial gastropods. This will be Rue’s first year with the GRP and he hopes this opportunity helps guide him into his most recent dream of becoming a science teacher.
