Hi, I’m Blake!

Leadership-In-Training Expedition Leader

A GRP camper for nine consecutive years, Blake’s love of not only the natural world but also visual art was born in Cedar Mountain, North Carolina. Throughout his time as a camper, he participated in everything from archery to creative writing with great joy. Blake’s favorite memories from his time as a camper were the wonderful friends he made and the confidence he gained from being a part of such a loving community. Blake is also a recent graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, earning his BFA with an emphasis in art education. As he embarks upon his post-collegiate pathway, Blake looks forward to retreating from the city for a short while to return to his second home: Green River Preserve. Blake wants nothing more than to create a whole new set of memories to last a lifetime and remains eternally grateful for the opportunity to work with GRP’s future leaders as he leads the “Leaders in Training” expedition for the very first time. In his free time, Blake takes great pleasure in writing, long walks, dancing, advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community, and listening to Taylor Swift’s discography on repeat. Blake also uses he/him pronouns.
