Born from diverse ancestry from Caribbean and Latin America, Ian spent his early years in the mountain lakes, rivers and oceans of California and went to school in the footprint of Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. As a teenager, he worked in the Sequoia National Forest teaching small boat sailing, canoeing and outdoor skills. For the last 25 years he has worked as an educator, naturalist, scuba diver, kayak guide, boat captain and director leading numerous environmental education and conservation programs in the Lowcountry of South Carolina and beyond. He has been a part of the GRP community for over 11years since his daughter was 8 years and now is looking forward to working alongside her as a fellow staff member.
