After studying plant science at the University of Florida, Jacob moved to Northern Virginia where he worked as an educator at an environmental nonprofit to follow his passion of environmental education and improve science literacy among all age groups. In January, he began his dream job of working with students inside the classroom as an Earth Science teacher at a local high school where he looks for ways to bring meaningful, hands-on opportunities to all of his students. Outside of work, Jacob enjoys birdwatching, gardening, hiking, and doing pottery, which he first fell in love with at GRP. This will be Jacob’s 2nd summer at Green River and 1st summer as a mentor and he couldn’t be more excited to meet the new round of campers!
