A GRP camper for nine consecutive years, Blake’s love of both the natural world and visual art first blossomed in Cedar Mountain, North Carolina. Throughout his time as a camper, he participated in activities ranging from archery to creative writing with great joy. Blake’s favorite memories from his time as a camper were the wonderful friends he made and the confidence he gained from being a part of such a loving community. Blake is now a graduate of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and currently holds a BFA with emphasis in art education. 2024 marks his sixth year on staff, and some of his past roles include serving as a counselor, virtual intern, expedition leader, and support staff for both summer and fall programming. This year, Blake will take on the role of acting as GRP’s pottery instructor/coordinator, and he is beyond excited to welcome any and all aspiring artists to the studio! Outside of making art, Blake finds great pleasure in watching live music, taking solo hikes on the preserve, and writing letters to close friends and family.
