Hi, I’m Julia!

Nurse

Julia is a former travel nurse and nomad who traded life on the road for a home base in Colorado Springs, where she lives at 7,000 feet above sea level with her husband, Mitch, and their lovable German Shepherd/Basset Hound mix, Oliver (a certified therapy dog who takes his job very seriously). After years of constant movement, she now happily calls the mountains home though she’s thrilled to trade high-altitude lungs for shaded hikes at a much lower sea level this summer at camp. Long before Colorado became home, Julia’s love of the outdoors began at her grandmother’s lake house, affectionately dubbed “Camp Grandma.” While she attended her fair share of day and overnight camps, it was those summers on the water that sparked her sense of adventure, creativity, and appreciation for unplugged fun. Nurse Julia is back for her second summer in the Health Hut and couldn’t be more excited. Camp fills her cup with so many of her favorite things: crafts, emergency medicine, nature, themed nights, and most importantly, joy. Last summer she achieved her goal of spotting a bear on her first night in Asheville so this year she’s aiming even higher, a grand slam. Get the ice cream ready
