We had more polar bears which probably felt pretty good since it was a bit warmer today. One group encountered some fresh bear scat, but alas, no bear. We just lack two Grand Slam animals – a bear and a deer. Once they do spot them, you’ll be able to hear their cheering in the next county.
After the mentor hike reports, Missy introduced the GRP Summer Camp Passport to the campers. A staff collaborative effort, the passport is filled with fun pages for the campers to fill out.
For example there is a page for campers to write down some fun facts about their cabinmates, another section where campers identify edible plants, animal signs and sketch several different kinds of leaves. Another part of the passport has 25 tasks that campers can do such as go down the zip line, become a polar bear, participate in the variety show and find evidence of two Grand Slam animals. The campers will have fun filling out their new passports!
Evening program was most definitely a camp-wide favorite – Predator Prey. Tomorrow is another day of hikes, fun and friendship!
