Both OBX and BRX expeditioners are out and about on their extended trips.
Outer banks-ers are experiencing “Island Life!” Paddling from shore to shore, meandering with wild horses, sea shell hunting, sand beach cooking, siesta lounging, salt water swimming. Life is good. They spent Sunday night at Whale Creek and will spend tonight at Johnson’s Bay, both on Shakleford Island. Tomorrow they will make their way across the sound to Cape Lookout National Seashore.
BRX expeditioners have been venturing on the Foothills Trail, just south of us in South Carolina. This is part of an 80 mile trail running along the Blue Ridge escarpment, the area where the mountains end and the piedmont begins. In addition to a lot of insanely amazing geology, the crew has been experiencing some tough climbs, incredible outlooks, beautiful floral and fauna, and amazing community. Expeditioners will conclude their trip tomorrow and take out at Lake Jocassee.
