Theatre Camp Goes to the Flat Rock Playhouse

by Vivian Delchamps, GRP Counselor

Yesterday was a very exciting day for the GRP theater campers. We left right after breakfast to go to Flat Rock Playhouse’s education center, where we did a tour and the campers practiced the play they put together and that they’ll perform at the Upper Council Fire. They also toured the backstage area of the Playhouse. After lunch and some playing around with costumes, we headed over to Flat Rock Playhouse to see the amazing play Guys and Dolls.

The play was really wonderful, and afterwards we met one of the principal actresses who answered questions about wigs, fake slaps, and what it’s like to be in the musical.

We returned to base camp and joined all of GRP at dinner and a fantastic Variety Show! The show included talents such as singing, card tricks, and dancing, and was a major success.
