The Wishful Wasteful Pirates

One of today’s GLP’s was “The Band GLP” and during their day of music, they wrote a very cool song that went along with the evening activity tonight; Pirate Night!  It is super fun and we all certainly enjoyed hearing them perform it tonight! 

                         

 

The Wistful Wasteful Pirates

There once was a… BAND OF WASTEFUL PIRATES- En route to paradise- Three months in, and three months out- They hunted chests of gold

But they pile up the trash- ’till the ship could hold no more- So ankle deep in fish bones- They shipwrecked on the shore

They were the… WISTFUL WASTEFUL PIRATES- Just south of paradise- Forgot three ARRs of pirate school- Reduce, reuse, recycle 

ARR is for reduce- ARR is for recycle- Reuse your trash and you won’t get smashed- Upon the rocks of life 

Marooned upon an island- With trees all tall as masts- They struggled through the winter- With only blankets made of grass

They were the… WISTFUL WASTEFUL PIRATES- Knee-deep in parasites- Learning how to use the earth- To keep themselves alive 

ARR is for reduce- ARR is for recycle- Reuse your trash and you won’t get smashed- Upon the rocks of life 

_ _Patchy brought the fish bones- Kevin made the thread- Bongo melted bottles down- To fill in all the cracks 

They were the… WISTFUL WASTEFUL PIRATES- En Route to paradise- They branded ARRs upon their arms- And sailed into the west

what a wonderful talented group of kids that we have this session at GRP!  They are all so amazingly creative, smart and just plain awesome.  The kids are  a huge part of what makes GRP so awesome!

Sara Schmidt serves as the Administrative Director and Registrar for Green River Preserve. She is excited to be part of the GRP family in her role which focuses on “all things camper.” Her primary responsibilities include camper registration and billing, camper retention, and the GRP Camp Store.
