BRX has returned from 5 days in the backcountry!

BRX came out of the backcountry this afternoon. 5 days, 4 nights, 3 amazing meals each day, 2 incredible mountains climbed, and 1 solid family…..it was an amazing trip to say the least. Stephen, Phen, and I ventured out to Reasonover Base Camp to welcome them back and hear their “roses and thorns” from the trip. Here is what the group had to say. Thorns included “blisters, wet socks, eating onions, not enough rain”, and that was really about it!

Roses included multiple recounts of “the beautiful views from John’s Rock and the top of Looking Glass, pesto pasta, hiking (even the hard parts!), group bonding, playing the story game, collecting firewood, pancakes, learning to cook in the backcountry, the responsibility the expeditioners were given by the leaders (ability to make choices), freedom and unstructured time in nature, growing a beard! THE VIEWS!”

All in all it seemed like an amazing trip and the group appeared to have solidified as a team during this time together. We are excited to take them climbing tomorrow at Big Bradley Falls and spend another wonderful day with our BRX Expeditioners!.
