OBX2
OBX2 is doing wonderfully! They paddled up Hunter’s Creek yesterday and plan on doing an overnight starting tomorrow morning on the White Oak River. So far they have seen 2 of their Grand Slam Animals- an alligator and an osprey! Hooray! Last nights evening program consisted of water coloring and journaling by the creek. As far as the meals go, they have a few everyone has been raving about. One morning they had an over abundance of pancakes that were delicious! Expeditioners also splurged on some mighty tasty burritos last night. The Fourth of July fireworks were pretty spectacular. Expeditioners were able to sit on the outpost dock and watch fireworks booming in all directions. After their White Oak overnight, the group plans to prepare for their banks trip and depart Monday. Happy Paddling OBX!
WXP
The Western Crew is having a blast as well. They finished their backpacking trip on the 4th and had a delicious celebratory dinner of goat cheese enchiladas waiting for them when they arrived in Silverton. The crew had front row camping views for the ever famous Silverton Fireworks Show. For a town of 500, it says a lot when 10,000 plus people venture into town just to see a fireworks display. The group was amazed to say the least. Tomorrow they will begin their 3 day rafting trip on the Colorado River. They will start off slow doing the Ruby Horsethief Section and then venture into a little more advanced whitewater on the Westwater Canyon Section. It is sure to be an exciting ride! We are happy to have Four Corners Whitewater guiding us on this trip! Happy Rafting WXP!
