Every day starts with campers bouncing to the Lodge for breakfast to fuel up for another fun filled day. As everyone finds their seats, exciting stories of adventures at Green River Preserve fill the air.
One of my favorite parts about the first few days of a new session is hearing returning campers share their Green River memories with first-time campers. From a favorite camp song to evening activities such as Predator vs. Prey, campers always have special stories they are eager to share from previous summers.
Something that sets Green River apart from other summer camps are the camper’s stories about their one on one interactions with nature. When a GRP alum shares memories about Polar Bearing on a Mentor Hike, making a walking stick in The Pioneer Cabin, or how their cabin came together during Campout, you can hear how important these experiences are to them.
By lunch, campers new and old had their own special memory to share from a morning of exploring the land. Here, our campers have the opportunity to interact with nature in such a fun and exciting way that connects them to the magic.
