As the Green River Preserve mentors and counselors start to roll in for training we like to refresh the minds of our staffs of the hiking trails on the preserve. Yesterday we ventured on a 7 mile hike to familiarize those returning as well as new staff on the trails we will be taking our campers on. We discovered plenty of creatures and critters on our adventure such as a corn-snake, crawdad, and even a hawk at the top of Long Rock. The hawk was nice enough to say hello as it flew over us while we ate lunch.
We began our trip from camp on the Bear Trail with many in-between trails eventually ending on the Green River Trail. On the River Trail we were able to walk halfway up through the water and make many discoveries underneath the rocks.
We had an eventful day and ended the night with s’mores by the campfire.
