The more and more I work in the camping world, the more I recognize the value of two skills: flexibility and adaptability. The Western Expeditioners own these skills on their trip.
They began their backpacking adventure last Friday. Starting in Boulder Gulch, on the outskirts of Silverton. They spent the first three nights traversing up high above the Animas River. The group experienced first hand the value of community and depending on one another in a backcountry setting.
On Monday, the 4th, the group ventured back into Silverton to watch the incredible Silverton fireworks display. Since then they have been spending their days up high in the alpine.
The group has been in awe of the 13,000-foot peaks and had the opportunity to spot some amazing wildlife like moose!
