For this week’s Staff Spotlight, we caught up with Katy Wilson!
Q: What is your position at GRP this Summer?
A: Expeditions Intern
Q: How many years have you been at GRP?
A: This will be my first year at GRP.
Q: What are you currently doing?
A: After the completion of my internship with GRP, I will have a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management from UNC Wilmington!
Q: What is your spirit animal and why?
A: My spirit animal is a Labradoodle dog because they are silly, playful and loyal.
Q: What are you passionate about?
A: I’m passionate about kids, the great outdoors, and yoga – which makes GRP the perfect place to be!
Q: What is your favorite thing to do outside?
A: I love going on hikes so that I can contemplate solutions to the world’s problems.
Q: Tell us about your favorite trip/experience.
A: My favorite experience was waking up before the sunrise to summit Waverly Mountain outside of Buena Vista, Colorado!
Q: Why did you choose to come to GRP this summer?
A: Green River Preserve is the perfect place to experience the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Through adventure, learning, and creative exploration, campers and staff are able to have the best summers of their lives!
Q: What is something interesting that happened to you this year?
A: I will be going on a solo trip to Rome this coming March!
Q: Where is your favorite place to hike?
A: My favorite place to hike has to be anywhere in Colorado.
