2017 Expedition Season is here!

Expeditioners are almost here and we could not be more excited about it! Expedition leaders have been preparing for their arrival by undergoing extensive training and by spending time out in the field and on the water scouting program areas.

Outer Banks Expedition leaders Kelly, Lawton, and Sean, spent their scout week paddling up the White Oak River and all along the banks. In that week, they saw all of the animals required for an OBX Grand Slam! OBX Grand Slaminals differ from those at Base Camp given the difference in habitat.

Blue Ridge Expedition leaders Katy, Jace, and Eli, spent their scout week whitewater canoeing the Tuckaseegee River, hiking on the Mountains to Sea Trail, and rock climbing at Pilot Rock. Trail Blazers Expedition leaders Jason and Sarah, have been diligently planning lessons and scouting potential new trails on Green River Preserve property. Tomorrow, OBX and BRX Expeditioners arrive at their respective destinations and TBX expeditioners will arrive at Base Camp in about a week. We can’t wait for you all to get here! Stay tuned to the blog for photos, videos, and stories as expeditions kick off!
