Welcome to Outer Banks Expeditions!

The first Outer Banks Expedition is in full swing, and we’ve been having a great time! Sunday started off with some grilled cheese sandwiches after we all got acquainted with our new home. We did a Respect Circle and group norms and took a swim review in the White Oak River. We finished the day off with some delicious stir fry and a Talking Shell Ceremony, where we went around and everyone told our goals, fears and expectations of the two weeks together.

Yesterday we learned about paddles, PFDs, kayaks and finally got into the boats! Every Expeditioner completed a wet exit and did a self rescue. The rest of the day was spent swimming, team building and laughing. We got an early night of sleep and are excited for a paddle on the White Oak River today!
