Morgan Himmelstein

Hi! I’m Morgan

Arts and Crafts Coordinator

Morgan spent her first summer with GRP last year as a counselor and will be jumping back in as the Arts and Crafts Coodinator this summer. She loves getting to connect with kids and see what drives them and what they create. Morgan is currently studying Linguistics at the Ohio State University and balances her studies with playing music and serving international students through a campus church. Morgan’s favorite memory from her time at GRP - if she had to pick just one of many - would be witnessing the campers struggle with homesickness or other difficulties but then do a 180-degree turn and later say that they can’t wait to come back to camp. Her favorite things to do outside are hike up stream beds, find cool leaves in the fall, and capture scenes in her sketchbook. Morgan doesn’t get to backpack very much, but a few years ago, she went on a trip with other exchange students to southern Chile which ignited a craving to start hiking more. As far as her favorite backcountry meal, Morgan enjoys the heartiness and simplicity of a good ole’ peanut butter and jelly sandwich (complete with a banana or apple slices). Fun fact: Morgan got to learn and perform traditional Rapa Nui (Easter Island) and Chilean dances - ask her to teach you some moves!
