Today, we welcome our Session 4 campers to the Preserve! With only a few weeks left of the summer season, we have lots to do. Session 4 will take our campers all over GRP, on mentor hikes, mountain bikes and much, much more. This week, we’ll explore the balds, polar bear in Uncle’s Falls and hopefully find some Grand Slaminals, along the way. There isn’t a moment at GRP, when we aren’t doing something new and exciting. Perhaps we’ll safely hold some salamanders and grab some crayfish, in the river. We’ll find our way to the cave and turn off headlamps to experience total darkness in the daytime. There will be fish caught and fish missed, along with many arrows loosed(both bulls-eyes and near misses) at the archery range. The GRP Wheels crew will ride mountain bikes into DuPont State Forest, to explore a more intense and exciting form of outdoor recreation. There will be climbing and rappelling, there will be paddling and canoe-flipping and more. We’ll have bread sticks and desserts and the evening program lineup will keep our late afternoons always entertaining. For now, we’re all just about ready for dinner, having completed a successful swim review. I hope it’s fried chicken, but anything that comes out of the GRP kitchen will be healthy and delicious!
