This is Meredith’s first time as a camp counselor. She is transferring from Blue Ridge Community College to Appalachian State University in the fall to receive a degree in Recreation Management or Environmental Science; she’s not entirely sure yet. Her parents kept her outside whenever they could manage to fit it into their busy lifestyles, and she grew to love it. Meredith tries to spend every free moment outside, whether it’s mountain biking, hiking, canoeing, or something as simple as watching the clouds change shape or watching for shooting stars by a campfire. Her primary motivation to be outside is that mother nature is judgment free, allowing you to absorb all of its’ wonder care free. She hopes to spark a passion for nature in the kids she works with this summer. A close second to spending time outside is Meredith’s joy in playing the fiddle and the ukulele, which will hopefully come in handy sometime this summer!
