Sarah grew up in rural town in Virginia. She always had an affinity for the outdoors, but it was not until she attended college at Longwood University that she really fell in love with it. There she earned a degree in Education with a minor in outdoor education. She has been working for GRP as expedition staff since 2014. Green River is like a second home and she is excited to be coming back this year. When not at GRP she teaches chemistry at a high school in Rock Hill, SC. Some of her passions include rock climbing, hiking, trail beautification, and new during the pandemic, white water kayaking. However, her number one passion is sharing the beauty of nature with others, so that they can learn to love it as much as she does.
