Kathryn Thomas

Hi, I’m Kathryn!

Counselor

A native of the Blue Ridge Mountains and long-time Green River Preserve camper and expeditioner, Kathryn is excited to return to camp for her first summer as a counselor! Kathryn is originally from Hendersonville, NC, but she currently lives in Durham, NC, where she attends Duke University. She is majoring in Public Policy and Political Science as well as pursuing a certificate in Human Rights. Kathryn discovered her interest in the outdoors at a young age while hiking mountains and exploring waterfalls with her family. Her passion and love for nature were solidified when she first came to Green River Preserve at age 8, and she has been a part of the GRP family ever since! In her free time, you can find Kathryn exploring a new trail, biking through virtual volcanoes, or stargazing with friends! This summer, Kathryn hopes to form meaningful connections with her campers while exploring waterfalls, singing camp songs, going for sunrise hikes, and helping campers create everlasting memories and friendships!
