From the Kitchen, A Thanksgiving Dish

The holiday’s are just around the corner and as our way to give thanks we are going to share a simple recipe perfect for Thanksgiving Dinner. Today we are sharing a sweet potato casserole recipe. Now I know what you are thinking about the traditional marshmallow laden sweet side dish that should be a dessert. Fortunately for you, this is not that recipe. I repeat there are no marshmallows in this casserole unless, of course, you’d like to add them after all.

Sweet Potato Casserole

  • 2 cups mashed sweet potatoes
  • ½ cup of sugar
  • ½ stick butter
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup flour
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • ½ stick butter
  • Dash of Salt

Preparation Combine sweet potatoes, sugar, butter , egg, milk and vanilla and mix well and pour into a buttered casserole dish. Mix brown sugar, pecans, flour, melted butter, salt and pour over top of the sweet potato mixture. Bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes. Enjoy!!!
