Hello, GRP Family! I’m Madison, the new Administrative Director.

First off, thank you to those who have already helped me feel incredibly welcomed into this close-knit and compassionate community. I am so honored to be a part of such a wonderful program and mission.

My primary duties as Administrative Director will revolve around enrollment and outreach, making me the point person for current and prospective campers and families. I am so thrilled to get to know you all!

Before joining the GRP leadership team, I have served in different roles for a variety of nonprofits including Outward Bound, Girl Scouts, and the YMCA. Inspiring youth through connection with nature is a passion that comes so naturally to me and is overwhelmingly present in my role as Administrative Director. While I love being involved with programming, there is another level of reward that comes from growth and development in something you’re passionate about. It fills my cup to grow our program and advocate daily why GRP is such a special place for families and their campers to make memories.

While most of my time is spent remotely from GRP during the off-season, I can’t begin to express the JOYFUL anticipation I have for Summer 2024! It will be a summer unlike any other pretending to be a camper again and witnessing the magic and connection that will be made by our community. You will definitely find me immersing myself in all that GRP has to offer this summer!

In my free time, I enjoy exploring trails on two wheels with my partner, Ben. While pedaling is our main hobby, we seek the joy through any type of adventure. Some other activities you may find us practicing are fly fishing, yoga, climbing, and paddleboarding! We are hobbiests and enjoy dabbling in many different things. Aside from outdoor hobbies, I tap into my creativity through art, gardening, and cooking.

Ben works as a forester for the NC Wildlife Commission and graduated from Western Carolina University. After living in Virginia from 2019-2022, we are filled with gratitude to call WNC home again. Ben is equally excited for the opportunity to share his skills and passions with the GRP community.

I’m looking forward to so many things in the new year, but rolling into 2024 as a member of the GRP family feels like the perfect fresh start for this next chapter of my life, and the next chapter of Green River Preserve.

The best is yet to come. Seek the joy!
