Meet GRP's New Administrative Director Izzy Hall

Meet Izzy

Hi Everyone!

I’m Izzy, the new Administrative Director here at GRP. I am so excited and grateful to join such an amazing community of outdoor educators and camp enthusiasts. As I transition into this role and begin connecting with GRP families, I’d like to share a little bit about myself.

Born and raised in Australia, I first came to the US to work at camp as a counselor in 2019. Looking to take a break from university, I decided to take a year off to see what the world had to offer. This first summer at camp changed my whole life.

Over three summers, I served as a counselor and Leadership Coordinator. I taught yoga, rock climbing, tennis, and outdoor skills. I was also a lifeguard, high-ropes instructor and led many off-camp trips into Pisgah and DuPont. My three summers connecting with campers, seeing them challenge themselves and witnessing their growth each year allowed me to discover my passion in life.

Pursuing this passion, I now have multiple years of camp leadership experience and a wealth of professional knowledge that I am excited to bring to GRP. Working at camps in both Colorado and North Carolina, I have been lucky enough to serve in year round positions that were heavily involved in programming logistics and staff management. While these roles have been incredibly rewarding, I am looking forward to supporting families and focusing on bringing more campers to our program. As Administrative Director, my role will allow me to create meaningful connections with parents whilst showing them how rewarding an experience at GRP can be.

Having spent the past year in the mountains of Colorado, skiing, climbing 14ers and learning to adapt to the snow, I am excited to move back to Western NC and immerse myself in the GRP community. When I’m not at camp, you can most likely find me outside running or hiking with my wife, Madison and our dog, Oskar.

I look forward to learning more about the GRP magic and connecting with you all!
