Green River Preserve is alive with the sounds of laughter, adventure, and discovery. During this two-week session, a community of curious, courageous Campers dives into nature, learning, and friendship with open hearts and boundless enthusiasm.
Every day offers new opportunities to explore—from winding mountain trails to the crystal-clear creeks that weave through The Preserve. Morning Mentor Hikes led by naturalists turn the forest into a living classroom, where Campers uncover the mysteries of wildflowers, salamanders, and towering trees. Group Learning Projects (GLPs) transform questions into action, encouraging campers to investigate, build, and create in ways that deepen their appreciation for the natural world.
One of the most transformative experiences is CampOut. With backpacks strapped tight and spirits high, groups journey into the backcountry for two nights beneath the stars. They learn to pitch tents, cook meals over flames, and fall asleep to the sounds of the forest—a powerful reminder that the wild has a rhythm all its own. CampOut fosters not just outdoor skills, but resilience, teamwork, and a deeper connection to the land.
Back at Base Camp, traditions continue to build community and joy. Movie Night fills the Lodge with popcorn and laughter, while evening programs—like storytelling, talent shows, and campfire gatherings—invite everyone to share, shine, and celebrate what makes them unique.
What truly makes these two weeks unforgettable is the sense of growth all around. Campers step outside their comfort zones and into their potential—whether by trying something new, making a lasting friend, or discovering a hidden talent. The energy is vibrant, the community strong, and the memories abundant. Here, nature is the backdrop—but the stories being written here, by Campers and Counselors alike, form the heart of the experience. This session is a vivid chapter in a summer filled with exploration, creativity, and wonder. And those stories? They’re only just beginning.
