Sandy Schenck

Founder and Chair Emeritus

Sandy Schenck is the founder of Green River Preserve. His family acquired the Preserve in 1953. He began construction of the non-profit camp in 1987 and has served in various roles in the camp administration ever since. He is an avid outdoorsman and fly fisherman. The mission of Green River Preserve is an outgrowth of his childhood when he, his brother and parents would camp, hike and explore what is now the Preserve. His childhood, he says, was the ultimate in inspiring environmental stewardship through a joyous connection to nature.
