Josh Rood

Adventure Director

Josh has been working professionally in Outdoor Education since 2001 with students of all ages. He received his BA in Psychology from University of California Santa Cruz and his M.Ed. from University of Georgia in Recreation and Leisure studies. He has been a professor of Environmental Science at Brevard College engaging student minds about ecosystems, environmental impacts and sustainable practices. Having been the director of an outdoor education center as well as a summer camp director, Josh can attest to the healing power of lessons learned from cultivating connections to nature’s resilience in the challenge and pursuit of self-reflection and discovery. As an outdoor enthusiast Josh is excited to share his passion and experience of water and the woods with Green River Preserve. In his spare time, he enjoys backpacking and storytelling with his wife and son in these Western North Carolina mountains that Josh calls home.
