Notes from the Field: BRX 3

It’s been almost a week since our Blue Ridge Expeditioners arrived. They are currently on their backpacking trip in Pisgah National Forest sleeping under the stars and washing in mountain streams. The crew left Thursday and plans to return on Sunday. We have heard that they are happy, healthy, and safe. We are excited for them to return and hear some of their stories from this bonding experience.

Prior to their backpacking adventure, they spent 2 days learning the ins and outs of rock climbing. Day one was spent at our base camp, on the rock wall. Day two, they ventured out with some of our climbing staff to some real rock on our property. Everyone had a great time, being challenged by new experiences and being pushed out of their comfort zones.

All in all the group was forming really nicely before they left on their backpacking trip. This group brings a diversity of ages, years at base camp, and knowledge for the outdoors. The leaders were excited for their development and their eagerness to learn.
