Connections

It’s about that time in Session 2, when it feels like this community could go through the rest of the summer together. We’re all merged into one giant family unit. Names are more than just names, at this point. Now we know the person behind each name. We know each other’s likes and dislikes. We know how many ticks we’ve had on and how many times we’ve gone off the zip-line or the high-jump. We know each other’s accomplishments, like how many times we’ve started a one-match fire or what routes have been conquered on the Climbing Tower, from “Spider-Man” to “The Kraken.” There seems to be a general understanding that each of us is here to fully experience life, whether it be by conversing, reading, making new friends or just taking the opportunity to offer the skills and wisdom that can be attained at GRP.

These connections that we’ve formed have already become friendships that will last long after Session 2 ends. For the rest of the summer, Campers will be talking about every amazing moment, whether it was a moment of independence or comradery. It’s just one of those things that makes GRP such a rare, magical gem. We simply cannot not take the opportunity to live, love and experience happiness together.
