Mentor Spotlight: Danny and Courtney

In the off-season, Danny and Courtney run a 501(c)3 called Mighty Boots Wilderness Project based in Phoenix, AZ. Mighty Boots’ mission is to build leadership and confidence through outdoor adventures. Programs include outdoor rock climbing, hiking, camping, backpacking expeditions, CPR/AED, Wilderness First Aid courses, and concurrent enrollment college level courses.

In addition to Mighty Boots, Courtney works as a 5th grade teacher. And Danny works as an adjunct professor in the Recreation and Parks Management program at Scottsdale Community College, where Mighty Boots’ high school students can earn 3 college credits through an Outdoor Adventure Skills course. They spend most of their winter hiking and climbing around Arizona.
